Norwich City explain why they’ve signed our new Football Leadership Diversity Code

Carrow Road is the home of Norwich City Football Club

As a club we pride ourself on a sense of belonging and we passionately live our core values through our everyday activities, leadership, and aspirations.

We're committed to ensuring that everyone feels included and able to access the club free from discrimination.

Our board, executive, leadership staff and our official charity partner, Norwich City Community Sports Foundation, wholeheartedly champion an equality, diversity and inclusion statement and policy and procedure.

We host internal and community engagement initiatives, deliver educational events and our recruitment principles have been adopted to eradicate barriers of entry.

And we recognise that within Norfolk, BAME representation is less than four per cent and women accessing employment in sport can still have perceived barriers of entry.

This is an issue and we pledge to eradicate these barriers and positively promote inclusivity within sport and remove any prejudice and unfair disadvantages.

Football is uniquely placed to bring together communities and to promote understanding of one another.

In turn, the sport will be further enriched by the diversity of perspective of those engaged with it via the influence of the Code, bringing transparency, fairness and open engagement.
