We have today published our seasonal calendar and guide to equality, diversity and inclusion to support the grassroots game in their efforts to celebrate and promote the diversity of the football community throughout the 2025-26 season.
This calendar is updated each season and is designed to raise awareness and understanding of different cultures, backgrounds and identities, and to help create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone participating in our game across the country.
Across the country, people from a range of backgrounds, cultures and communities take part in football in different ways. This could be playing, coaching, refereeing and volunteering to name a few. The diversity of these people is one of the best things about the beautiful game.
The FA, England Football and the County FA network are working to address under-representation in football and to ensure it is inclusive through the delivery of our strategies in this area.
We hope this calendar and guide can help you with your understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion. The FA will also be launching a number of new strategies and supporting documents across the 2025-26 season.
If you are involved in running the game, whether through a club, league or facility, we also recommend speaking directly to the people who may observe any of the dates mentioned in this document to better understand their personal preferences and perspectives.
The guide also includes an update on our ongoing commitment to creating a more inclusive and representative football community. It features insights into how people are embedding Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) into grassroots football, highlights from our monthly Your Game Your Way online sessions, the participation of County FAs in Pride events across the country, and the continued growth of both the women’s and girls’ game, as well as disability football.
