Through the Wembley Community Club, we provide local children with the unforgettable opportunity to become player mascots at England matches and other major fixtures at Wembley Stadium.
Around a quarter of all player mascot places are allocated through the programme, ensuring children from Brent have access to experiences that create lifelong memories.
During the 2025-26 season, we provided 35 player mascot opportunities for local children, giving them the chance to take centre stage at some of the biggest fixtures in the football calendar. Mascots proudly led the teams onto the pitch at events including the Community Shield, England men's internationals against Uruguay and Japan, England Women's match against Spain, the Emirates FA Cup semi-finals, and both the Men's and Women's FA Cup Finals.
Each mascot receives a full football kit and enjoys a behind-the-scenes experience unlike any other. The children meet the players as they arrive at the stadium, watch the pre-match warm up pitchside, and then join the players in the tunnel before walking hand-in-hand onto the pitch for the national anthem in front of thousands of supporters.
To ensure these opportunities reach those who will benefit most, we work closely with local primary schools and community organisations, inviting them to nominate children. Some places are awarded as a reward for outstanding behaviour, effort or academic achievement, while others are offered to children who may have recently experienced significant personal or family challenges and would benefit from a special and uplifting experience.
One participating school, John Keble CofE Primary School, shared:
"Thank you very much for the opportunity. They are thrilled."
The children themselves often describe the experience as unforgettable. After high-fiving the England players before kick-off, one mascot proudly declared:
"I never want to wash my hand!"
This simple comment perfectly captures the excitement, pride and sense of wonder that the player mascot experience creates.
