We are pleased to share this year’s FA Council annual report for the 2025-26 season.
This report highlights the work of The FA Council and Committees over the past year and demonstrates how they collectively continue to support The FA in futureproofing the game for all.
The FA Council remains a vital part of The FA’s governance structure, bringing together representatives from across football to provide strategic insight, challenge and advice on the issues that shape the future of the game.
Our members represent County Football Associations, leagues and clubs from across the men’s and women’s professional and semi-professional game, alongside representatives of education, disability and youth football, match officials and key stakeholder organisations, including the Football Supporters’ Association, the League Managers’ Association and the Professional Footballers’ Association. Through its diverse membership, Council ensures that the views and experiences of stakeholders from every level of football are heard and considered.
Throughout the season, Council has considered a broad range of strategic issues affecting football. This report provides an overview of those discussions, together with summary reports from FA Committees, illustrating the breadth of work undertaken across The FA.
The contribution made by Council members extends far beyond attendance at Council meetings. So many members voluntarily give their time, expertise and experience to support FA Committees and Working Groups, and we are extremely grateful for their continued commitment to the game.
