Following a meeting today of the 55 member associations, UEFA has confirmed that it would be too early to allow supporters to attend September’s Nations League competition fixtures.
This policy applies to all UEFA sanctioned fixtures, including Under-21 and development fixtures. UEFA has advised that test match(es) should take place first in order to ascertain the impact on COVID-19 procedures.
England's September fixtures
Iceland v England – 5pm BST, Saturday 5 September
Denmark v England – 7.45pm BST, Tuesday 8 September
This means, that, at the time of publication, both the Iceland and Denmark fixtures are still to take place behind closed doors.
We are continually working with UEFA, the UK Government and opposition FAs to deliver England’s remaining 2020 fixtures, however, we hope you can appreciate that these are unusual and concerning times for everyone, and therefore the safety and security of all involved with these fixtures takes precedence.
As previously advised, The FA is not liable for any travel or accommodation costs incurred by members who had previously planned to attend the Iceland and/or Denmark fixtures.
We will continue to keep members updated with information regarding England’s away match against Belgium in October, together with any further updates regarding fixtures taking place at Wembley Stadium.
