Natalia Pablos scored the only goal of the game as Arsenal beat Manchester City to set up an FA WSL Continental Tyres Cup semi-final clash with Birmingham City.

The Spaniard netted the winner for the home side in the 34th minute with a right-footed volley that flew into the bottom left corner of Karen Bardsley’s net.

City pressed but they couldn’t find an equaliser as Arsenal enacted some revenge on their visitors having lost last year’s Continental Tyres Cup final by the same scoreline.

The first half was tightly contested with chances coming for both sides as Bardsley and Sari van Veenendaal in the City and Arsenal goal were called into action on several occasions.

The Blues did have a chance to score early on but Jemma Rose managed to clear the ball off the line after Lucy Bronze’s cross almost flew in after five minutes.

And after opportunities at both ends, the hosts took the lead as Pablos made the most of some sloppy City defending to fire her side ahead.

The second half was another tight affair but Nick Cushing's side almost drew level on 77 minutes as Daphne Corboz found Izzy Christiansen, but her shot flew wide.
