England's Ashley Young pushes out a young mascot ahead of the game with Italy
A lot of players say that it’s a massive honour to play for England, but for me it really, genuinely is.

I can’t even describe how proud I feel when I pull on that England shirt.

Walking out at Wembley and singing the national anthem before a game is just unbelievable. It’s the stuff of dreams.

I can’t really put into words the passion, desire and hunger I’ve got for England.

People can sometimes forget that us players are all football fans, we’re all England fans and we want England to do well as much as any other supporter. The England fan inside me will never leave.

So for me to be going to my first World Cup is just amazing. I’m the oldest member of the squad but I’ve got the same excitement as any of the younger players. All my family are flying over to Russia for it. It’s a huge deal for all of us.

Everything about the World Cup is just magnificent and I can’t wait for it. I want it to start now.
