The Emirates FA Cup Trophy

With the draw for the Emirates FA Cup first round proper having been made on Monday there were nine fourth round qualifying replays on Tuesday night with everyone clear on what lies next if they qualify.

Ossett Town were one of only three teams left in the competition from the eighth tier of English football, along with Hyde and Heybridge Swifts, but unfortunately their dream is over after losing 2-1 to Solihull Moors.

Ossett had done well to draw 1-1 away at the Moors but unfortunately went down to goals from Joel Kettle and Darren Carter in front of 1176 fans – Solihull Moors will now host Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday 4 November.

Brackley Town definitely have a reputation for giant-killing, having knocked out Gillingham twice in the last four seasons, but Gills are safe this year as Kevin Wilkin’s side lost 2-1 at Billericay.

The two sides had played out an entertaining 3-3 draw in the midlands at the weekend but it’s Ricay who travel to Leatherhead in the next round thanks to goals from Robbie Evans and Sam Deering.

Boston United held Chorley to a 0-0 draw in Lancashire last week but the goals flowed in the replay with a 3-3 draw in 90 minutes before the Magpies won in extra-time.

James Clifton opened the scoring for Boston and Nick Haughton replied for Chorley before Kabongo Tshimanga restored the lead on 51 minutes.

Andy Teague then equalised and Haughton struck again - Gregg Smith scored to send the tie into extra-time but Haughton got a 111th-minute winner to set up a tie against League One side Fleetwood Town in the first round proper.

Nantwich Town will travel to League Two side Stevenage in the next round after they claimed a 1-0 win away at Kettering having drawn 1-1 at home.

Harry Clayton headed the Dabbers into the lead after just 19 minutes and there were some cup heroics from Will Jaaskelainen who saved an 89th minute Aaron O’Connor penalty to edge the tie.

Elsewhere, Leyton Orient beat Dagenham & Redbridge by 1-0, Bromley beat Dover Athletic 3-0 and Ebbsfleet United beat East Thurrock 3-0 thanks to goals from Myles Weston, Aaron Mclean and Andy Drury.
