The FA Vase trophy on the pitch at Wembley

Hereford FC were the day’s big winners in the FA Vase as they stormed to an emphatic 6-0 win Leicester Nirvana in the Fourth Round.

There were two goals apiece for John Mills and Mike Symons while Aaron Birch and Ross Staley rounded off the victory as Hereford set up a fifth round clash with Hartley Wintney at the end of the month.

That match comes after Hartley Wintney picked up a 3-1 win over Bradford Town thanks to a stellar performance from Steve Noakes.

Visitors Bradford took the lead after 13 minutes but that lead did not last long as Steven Duff levelled things up five minutes later.

In an exciting match with chances aplenty it took until the second-half for the hosts to edge in front through Rossi Cook before he added a second to round off the win.

Four matches fell foul to the weather while two needed extra time to separate the sides including at Coleshill Town where Dunston Town won 3-1.

Dunston had taken the lead in the ninth minute through Dale Burrell before Danico Johnson levelled things on 85 minutes.

With extra-time looming the hosts were reduced to 10 men and it told after normal time as the visitors capitalised and hit two more to take the win.

Extra time was also needed at St George’s Park where Newport (IOW) FC went down 2-1 to Ashford United.

Port took the lead through Darren Powell on six minutes before Shaun Welford equalised two minutes later.

It stayed that way until the 118th minute when Ellis Green popped up to volley home the winner and break home hearts.

In the day’s other matches Bristol Manor Farm picked up a 2-0 win at Moneyfields thanks to goals from Dean Stamp and Aron Robbins while Kidlington survived a late scare to win 3-2 at home to Knaphill
