England Women's Under-19s suffer Euro defeat to Belgium

England Women Under-19s were dealt a blow in their hopes of reaching this year’s Euro Finals after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Belgium.

Mo Marley’s side went into their second Elite Qualifying Round game on the back of a 1-0 victory against Austria on Tuesday.

But a free-kick from Laura Gorniak in the 40th minute proved the difference on Thursday afternoon, despite some late pressure from the Lionesses in Linkoping.

The final game of the group takes place on Sunday against host nation Sweden, where England know they will have to win if they are to stand any chance of progressing to the Euro Finals in Slovakia this summer.
