Women's U19s squad update for elite qualifying round

Mo Marley led a side to the final of the Euros four times in seven seasons

Mollie Green and Zoe Cross have been called into the England Women’s Under-19s squad ahead of their European Championship elite qualifying round campaign.

Mo Marley’s side will fly to Linköping in Sweden for matches against Austria (on Tuesday 5 April), Belgium (Thursday 7 April) and the host nation (Sunday 10 April).

Liverpool forward Green has replaced the injured Chiara Ritchie-Williams, who had initially come in for Mollie Rouse, but the Aston Villa youngster also withdrew through injury.

Meanwhile Chelsea midfielder Cross has replaced Arsenal’s Leah Williamson.

The top-placed team in the group will qualify for the Euro Finals, which will take place in Slovakia in July.

Marley guided England to Euro glory in Belarus in 2009 with a squad containing current senior team stars Lucy Bronze, Gilly Flaherty, Jordan Nobbs, Demi Stokes, Jade Moore, Toni Duggan and Izzy Christiansen.

Goalkeepers: Sandy MacIver (Manchester City), Sian Rogers (Arsenal).

Defenders: Megan Finnigan (Everton), Grace Fisk (Millwall Lionesses), Gabrielle George (Everton), Paula Howells (London Bees), Mayumi Pacheco (Liverpool), Eloise Wilson (Bristol City).

Midfielders: Zoe Cross* (Chelsea), Emma Kelly (Sunderland), Jenna Legg (Chelsea), Chloe Peplow (Birmingham City), Sophie Stamp (Hull City).

Forwards: Rinsola Babajide (Millwall Lionesses), Evie Clarke (Arsenal), Mollie Green** (Liverpool), Lucy Loomes (Millwall Lionesses), Atlanta Primus (Yeovil Town).

*replaced Leah Williamson (Arsenal).
