Women's U17s squad named for opening Euro qualifiers

The England squad has been named for the first qualifying round of this season’s UEFA Women’s U17 Championship.

The Young Lions will fly to Bulgaria later this month to take on Moldova, Russia and the host nation, with the top two teams progressing to the final round of qualifiers next spring.

In Birmingham City’s Sian Rogers, Arsenal’s Chloe Kelly and Notts County’s Ashleigh Plumptre, England have three players who featured in last year’s Finals which were held in this country to help mark The FA’s 150th anniversary.

Also selected is Liverpool’s Kess Elmore, who scored the winner in The FA Girls’ Youth Cup Final in June.

The Euro Finals take place in Iceland in late June, early July next year.
