Thomas Ince is hoping to carry on what he has started at Crystal Palace this week, as they prepare to face Everton on Wednesday.

The England Under-21s forward sealed a memorable debut for the Eagles on Saturday when he scored their first goal in a 3-1 win over West Bromwich Albion.

And after joining the Premier League club on loan from Blackpool ahead of last month’s transfer deadline, Ince has been pleased with his first few weeks at Selhurst Park.

"It has been fantastic,” revealed the 22-year-old.

"If you ask the boys, we have walked into a club that we feel we've been at for ages. The lads are brilliant, the staff, the facilities - everything around it has made me feel welcome.

"I just need to keep my feet firmly on the ground, train twice as hard this week and see if I can get in the squad for Wednesday."

Palace have edged themselves out of the bottom three over the last few months since the appointment of Tony Pulis as boss and have now climbed up to 14th spot in the table.

But Ince knows they need to keep on collecting results, especially with the close-knit nature of the Premier League rankings.

"When we are winning it feels good, but we have to make sure we go again on Wednesday,” added Ince, who began his career with Everton's city rivals Liverpool.

"But there’s a great bunch of lads in this dressing room and some quality, quality talent with the likes of Yannick Bolasie, Jason Puncheon and Jerome Thomas.

"I have to work twice as hard as these guys that have been here all season

"But to come in and put in a shift, first and foremost, and to score on my Premier League debut is a nice way to start and the three points today is what matters most."

Ince will also be hoping to feature in England Under-21s’ next game on Wednesday 5 March, when Wales are the opposition at Derby County’s iPro Stadium.

Tickets for the game are priced just £10 for adults and £5 for U18s. These can be purchased in person from the Digonex Ticket Office, by calling 0871 472 1884 (option 1) or by visiting WeAreDerby.com.
