Karen Bardsley was Mark Sampson’s No.1 for his first match in charge – a 1-1 draw with Norway in La Manga.

Unfortunately, a stress fracture ruled the 30-year-old out of the Cyprus Cup, and England’s next six matches.

But she made her comeback in the 3-0 World Cup qualifying win over Belarus in June, and kept her place for the next three internationals, including the 4-0 win over Wales which sealed the Three Lions’ place at Canada 2015.

In total, Bardsey made six appearances in 2014 and kept three clean sheets.
