Lizzie Durack has earned her first Senior team call-up

Goalkeepers Lizzie Durack and Carly Telford have been called up to the England Women’s squad for next week’s Cyprus Cup campaign.

The duo replace Rachel Brown-Finnis and Karen Bardsley who have been forced to pull out through injury.

Everton's Brown-Finnis has been ruled out with a groin and back complaint while new Manchester City signing Bardsley has a stress fracture in her foot.

Cyprus Cup schedule

v Italy, 3.30pm GMT, 5 March
v Finland, 12.30pm GMT, 7 March
v Canada, 12.30pm GMT, 10 March

Durack was a key member of Mo Marley’s U19 team that finished runners-up at last season’s European Championship finals. This is her first call-up to the senior team.

Notts County goalkeeper Telford last represented her country against France at the Cyprus Cup in 2012.

England won this competition last season and they begin their title defence against Italy on Wednesday 5 March. They will then take on Finland on 7 March and Canada on 10 March.

This will be new Head Coach Mark Sampson’s first opportunity to assess his squad in a tournament environment.

His first home game in charge is a World Cup qualifier against Montenegro at Brighton & Hove Albion’s Amex Stadium on Saturday 5 April.

Tickets for the Montenegro game are priced at just £5 for adults and £2.50 for concessions. For tickets, call 0844 327 1901 or visit seagulls.co.uk/tickets
