England’s Futsal squad to play Germany has been named, ahead of their two games at St. George’s Park in September.

Futsal Lions’ head coach Michael Skubala has picked a long list for the games, as England kick off the new international season with two exciting fixtures.

England v Germany
  • Futsal Internationals
  • 8pm, Friday 20 September
  • 4pm, Saturday 21 September
  • St. George's Park, Burton
  • Tickets: £5/£2.50

For most of the squad, this will be their first competitive outing of the campaign, ahead of the exciting new National Futsal Series starting the following weekend.

And it will be the first Futsal meeting for the two nations on English soil, having met two years ago in Hamburg for Germany’s first-ever internationals. The hosts won a close first game by 5-3 before the teams shared a thrilling 3-3 draw in their second clash.

The teams will look different this time though, as Skubala looks to continue his and the squad’s preparations for the next stage of Futsal World Cup qualifiers in Italy next month.

Matt Overton keeps his place in the group after progressing from the U21s squad and Skubala has also called up Munmeet Jagpal for a potential debut after the U19s player impressed against Portugal last season.

“This is great preparation for our upcoming qualifiers in Italy next month,” said Skubala.

“Germany are one of the fast developing Futsal nations to look out for in the coming years, so I’m sure they’ll be in a similar position to us in their planning for the World Cup main round.

Max Kilman, now of Wolves, scored England's equaliser against Germany when they last met in November 2016

“It will be two very exciting games for sure.”

The international games lead into the start of the new National Futsal Series, with the inaugural campaign starting on Sunday 29 September.

Both games will also be streamed live on BBC Sport, via the Red Button or online on both Friday and Saturday
