Two second-half goals saw England Women’s Under-17s fall to a 2-0 defeat to France in a friendly in Spain.
John Griffiths’ young Lionesses held firm in the first half, with little between the two sides.
Despite nine half-time changes, the score remained level until the 68th minute when midfielder Chloe Philippe put France in front.
And the outcome was sealed with two minutes left on the clock when defender Maelle Lakrar found the net.
England are back in action on Saturday when they take on Germany, kick-off 4pm.
