Yeovil Town may already have sealed promotion to FA WSL 1 but Helen Bleazard warns they can’t take their foot off the gas ahead of Sunday’s final game of the season against Sheffield FC.
The Lady Glovers confirmed promotion from FA WSL 2 in last week’s 2-0 win against London Bees but the title is on the line this weekend with Bristol City level on points.
Yeovil have a superior goal difference but if they slip up the Vixens will be waiting to capitalise, and Bleazard is desperate to stop that from happening and see her side lift the trophy.

She said: “Every game is a tough test and you can’t go into any game thinking it’s going to be easy and you’ll turn up and walk it.
“We know we’ve stumbled against these before so we’re going to make sure that for the 95 minutes we are prepared and ready to fight.
“We’ve been top for a lot of the season and we want to stay there so it’s just about focusing on ourselves as a team and putting the hard work in training and hopefully we can put the performance in on Sunday.
“I think the main thing is if we win it, we finish top. Obviously Bristol can technically still jump ahead of us in terms of goal difference. But they’ve got to focus on themselves.
“We take every game at a time. We have our motto – one pass, one game at a time – and we’ve stuck with that all season.”
Yeovil boss Jamie Sherwood delivers instructions at training
Sheffield will be tough opposition though and the Yorkshire side have won their last two games, including Sunday’s 2-1 win against Oxford United.
A top-half finish is guaranteed and the idea of spoiling Yeovil’s party is a tantalising one, according to defender Billie Murphy.
She said: “Yeovil are a very good team, very organised and direct and we know that is a title game so they’ll be coming at us with everything.
“And being away from home will make it even more difficult for us. But we thrive on having that underdog status, we’ve proven in our season that we can take points off the big teams and Yeovil should be no different.
“We’ll go there with no fear and give it everything we possibly have – it’s the last game of our season, our debut season, and if we were to get a win from that last game then that would give us a huge boost going into next season.
“It’s not going to be easy, they’re a very good team, but we got a point against them earlier in the season, so why not do it again now? We’d love to finish on that high.”
