England Women's U19s captain Jodie Brett in Euro action against Germany

England duo Caitlin Leach and Jodie Brett have been named in the squad of the tournament following the recent UEFA Women’s U19 Euros.

Goalkeeper Leach and captain Brett played all three matches at the finals, which were staged in Israel, but they were unable to help Mo Marley’s side get beyond the group stage.

The Young Lionesses slipped to defeat in their opening two matches, against Germany and Spain, before being held to a goalless draw by Norway.

But UEFA’s technical observers saw enough from Leach and Brett to select them among the best 17 players at the tournament.

Leach plays her club football with Aston Villa, while Brett is a part of the Chelsea squad who are preparing for Saturday’s SSE Women’s FA Cup Final against Notts County at Wembley.

Sweden won the Euros after beating Spain in Monday’s final.
