England Under-21s ramped up their preparations for Thursday's clash with Portugal at Turf Moor, with a lively training session at St. George's Park.

Gareth Southgate's squad began Tuesday morning in more sombre mood as they joined their senior, U20, U19 and blind counterparts on the elite training pitch to observe a two-minute Armistice Day silence.

After that, it was quickly back down to work with a warm-up before moving onto some team play and finishing with finishing work against goalkeepers Jack Butland, Jonathan Bond and Marcus Bettinelli, who made a stunning triple save at one stage in the session.

The group were joined by Harry Kane and Tom Carroll, who had both been rested for Monday's session after featuring for Spurs and Swansea respectively in their Premier League games on Sunday whilst defenders Jack Robinson and Jamaal Lascelles were absent after taking part in training with Roy Hodgson's senior squad earlier in the day.

Southgate's side will head to Lancashire on Thursday for their first game of the week, when they take on fellow Euro Finalists Portugal in Burnley.

After that, they head to Brittany for another tough warm-up game against France in Brest.

Tickets for the game at Turf Moor cost just £10 for adults and £5 for juniors and fans can pay at the gate on Thursday evening. For more details, please call 01282 700003.
