They then wrap up their fixture calendar for 2014 with an interesting encounter with Scotland in Glasgow on Tuesday 18 November.

Hodgson named a 26-man squad for the two games, and they all reported to the national football centre on Monday.

Sixteen members of the squad were in action on Tuesday morning, and they were joined by Under-21 players Jamaal Lascelles and Jack Robinson.

Five players who played for their clubs on Sunday – Danny Welbeck, Calum Chambers, Kieran Gibbs, Ross Barkley and Saido Berahino – took part in a warm-up outside before heading into the gym.

Meanwhile Gary Cahill, Leighton Baines, Phil Jagielka, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Andros Townsend picked up knocks at the weekend so did not train.

After training the men’s senior, Under-21s, U20s, U19s and Blind squads led a two-minute silence

Following the session at 11am, the players and coaching staff were joined on the pitch by the Under-21s, U20s, U19s and Blind squads to observe a two-minute silence to commemorate Armistice Day.
