Saido Berahino celebrates his strike against Croatia

West Bromwich Albion frontman Saido Berahino ended 2014 with an enviable strike rate of one goal in every two games for the Under-21s. 

Often selected as the man to lead the line by Gareth Southgate, the 21-year-old certainly repaid that faith with goals.

And it happened for him on a domestic level too, with his eye-catching form at the start of the 2014-15 season earning him a call-up to Roy Hodgson’s senior squad in November. 

Before that, though, he had helped the Under-21s qualify for next summer’s Euro Finals by top-scoring in the qualification campaign. 

He then scored a crucial winning goal at Molineux in the first-leg of the play-off with Croatia by earning and converting a late penalty, which gave England an edge going into the second-leg in Vinkovci. 

His form on the pitch for England was also matched on the training ground, where he regularly showcased his repertoire of skills, which were often caught on the FATV cameras.
