Leyton Orient’s Romain Vincelot has been given a one-match suspension and fined £1,500 after an Independent Regulatory Commission found him guilty of a breach of FA Rule E3 today.
It was alleged that Vincelot deliberately ensured that he received a caution during Leyton Orient's FA Cup win over Southport last Saturday, in order to trigger an automatic one-match suspension for collecting five cautions this season.
This suspension caused him to miss Leyton Orient's Football League Trophy tie against Stevenage on Tuesday 12 November and so left him eligible to play in Leyton Orient's forthcoming League One fixtures.
Vincelot had denied the charge, but it was found proved after a hearing.
The FA brought the charge on the basis that his conduct was an attempt to undermine the purpose of the disciplinary process and the integrity of the competitions in which Leyton Orient are participating.
Leyton Orient have confirmed that they will not be appealing the decision.
Vincelot’s suspension begins with immediate effect.
