Saido Berahino’s late penalty secured that victory, but with Croatia scoring an away goal the tie is very much on a knife-edge as the Eastern Europeans play host.

"We want to come out here and play the same way, we’ve got the same game plan, we want to attack and score goals," Kane told TheFA.com.

"We want to cancel out their away goal and control the game.

"We’ve scored goals in near enough every game that we’ve played and we have goalscorers in the team, all around the pitch.

"Everyone knows we can score goals, but we want to keep a clean sheet as well."

The England squad trained in Vinkovci on Monday evening

The England squad travelled to Vinkovci on Monday morning and Kane and his squad-mates got a feel for the pitch at the Stadion HNK Cibalia during a training session later that evening.

The 21-year-old knows that Gareth Southgate’s side will have to face a sizzling atmosphere and a sell-out crowd at the venue on Tuesday night which presents a new proposition in comparison to their other games in the campaign.

"We know what to expect, it’s going to be a tougher game away from home as they’ll have their crowd behind them and getting them up for it," he added.

"But we know what we’ve got to do, we have to stick to our game plan and play the way we can and that should be good enough.

"The pitch is okay, a bit different to what we’re used to back home but we’ll get used to it and it’s the same for both teams."
