Alex McCarthy replaces Fraser Forster in England squad

Alex McCarthy has been called into Sam Allardyce’s England squad following Fraser Forster’s withdrawal through injury.

The Southampton goalkeeper replaces his club-mate and will join the camp at St. George’s Park on Thursday evening.

The 26-year-old gained three caps for England Under-21s and is no stranger to the senior set-up having been included in the Three Lions squad for the friendlies against the Republic of Ireland and Brazil in May 2013.
