Four-time winners Whitley Bay went out of the competition on Saturday, losing 2-1 at home to fellow Northern League side Dunston UTS. Their conquerors – who lifted The Vase themselves in 2012 – have now been handed an away tie at Heanor Town of the Northern Counties East League.

The record of Northern League clubs in The Vase has been second to none in recent seasons, with North Shields and Consett – who now meet at the Daren Persson Stadium – also having their eyes on a Wembley visit on 9 May.

Colliers Wood United of the Combined Counties League, for whom Mario Embalo notched five goals in their 9-2 thrashing of Lingfield at the weekend, have earned an away tie at Ascot United.

Erith & Belvedere, who have lost one match in the Southern Counties East League this season, entertain Yaxley. There are also long trips for Phoenix Sports (to Bodmin Town) and AFC St Austell (to Greenwich Borough).
