A second-half blitz from Liverpool saw the 2022 champions ease into the last eight of the Emirates FA Cup with a 3-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.
Goals from Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah just two minutes apart early in the second half set Liverpool on their way, before Curtis Jones ensured there would be no comeback in this fifth round proper tie.
Wolves had stunned Liverpool in the Premier League on Tuesday, but could not make it two in a row against the Reds as their FA Cup run came to a close, despite a late consolation from Hwang Hee-chan.
The first half was largely devoid of chances, Alexis Mac Allister with one speculative shot that was comfortably dealt with by Sam Johnstone, before Rio Ngumoha showed dazzling footwork to open up space and force a good save out of the Wolves keeper.
There was a tribute from both sets of supporters for Diogo Jota, who played for both clubs before his tragic passing last summer.
In terms of on-field action, however, both sides struggled to create chances with the game very much in the balance at the break.
After a quiet first half, the second burst into life thanks to Liverpool seizing control in a two-minute spell.

A counter-attack from the visitors ended with Jones feeding Robertson. The Scot spotted a chance to have a go and fired the ball into the bottom left corner to break the deadlock.
And Liverpool made it two almost immediately. Robertson was the creator this time, getting down the left-hand side and firing across the Liverpool defence where Salah was on hand to smash it home.
The Egyptian was initially ruled offside, but after a VAR check, it was clear that he was behind the ball when it was crossed in, and Liverpool were in control at 2-0 with 40 minutes remaining.
They threatened to run away with it from there, with Ngumoha looking particularly dangerous when he got on the ball.
One driving run into the box saw him skip past two Wolves defenders, but his snapshot flew past the near post.
At the other end, Tolu Arokodare could have got Wolves back into it, but he was not reactive enough after Robertson had had his pocket picked.
Instead, Liverpool made the tie safe with 17 minutes to go when Jones strode forward before bending the ball into the far corner past Johnstone.

Ibrahima Konaté should have made it four but could not connect properly with the ball when unmarked with the goal at his mercy.
Instead, Wolves got one back, albeit in stoppage time, when Hwang got in behind from Johnstone’s clearing kick and slotted home.
Liverpool did get the ball in the net once more through Ryan Gravenberch, but Jones was offside in the build-up.
