The Emirates FA Cup enters its fifth round stage this weekend. With eight ties scheduled between Friday 6 and Monday 9 March 2026.
Ahead of the games, take a look at some of the facts and stats from each of the ties.
Wolverhampton Wanderers v Liverpool
8pm GMT, Friday 6 March 2026
Molineux
● Wolves have met Liverpool in eight previous FA Cup ties and have a positive record against the Reds, progressing more often (five times) than they’ve been eliminated (three). The last time they faced them in the fifth round was in 1948-49, winning 3-1 and eventually lifting that season’s trophy.
● This is the second time in the last five seasons that Liverpool will face the side bottom of the Premier League in the FA Cup fifth round – they won 2-1 against Norwich in 2021-22, who had knocked Wolves out in the fourth round.
● Wolves are into the FA Cup fifth round in three seasons in a row for the first time since doing so between 1978-79 and 1980-81. Their two ties so far this season were both against League Two opponents – they’ve been knocked out by a Premier League side in nine of the last ten seasons.
● Liverpool have lost their last two away matches in the FA Cup, with each of their last five wins in the competition coming at Anfield. The Reds haven’t lost more away games in a row in the competition since a run of four between January 1951 and January 1954.
● This will be Wolves boss Rob Edwards’ second FA Cup fifth round tie as a manager – he lost 6-2 to Manchester City in 2023-24 as Luton boss.
● Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has been involved in nine goals in nine FA Cup starts for the club (seven goals, two assists), scoring in his one start against Wolves in the competition in January 2023 at Anfield. He has scored a goal every 110 minutes in the competition, the second best of any Reds player to play 500+ minutes behind Tony Hateley (one every 83 minutes, eight in seven games).
Mansfield Town v Arsenal
12.15pm GMT, Saturday 7 March 2026
Field Mill
● This is the first meeting between Mansfield Town and Arsenal since January 1929, a match won 2-0 by Arsenal in the FA Cup. The Gunners have only had a bigger gap between games against Lincoln City (102 years, 1915 – 2017) than this 97-year gap against the Stags.
● Arsenal have progressed from each of their last 15 FA Cup ties against sides from the third tier or below – the last side to knock them out was fourth tier Wrexham in the third round in 1991-92.
● Mansfield Town are into the FA Cup fifth round for only the fifth time ever, and first time since 1974-75 when they lost to Carlisle United. The Stags have reached the quarter-final just once, beating West Ham 3-0 in the fifth round in 1968-69.
● Arsenal have reached the FA Cup fifth round for just the second time under Mikel Arteta, doing so in 2019-20 previously when they beat Portsmouth at this stage, eventually winning the trophy. They last got knocked out in the fifth round in 2012-13 against Blackburn, a match that Arteta started for the Gunners.
● Mansfield boss Nigel Clough will face Arsenal as a manager for the first time in this match. His father, Brian Clough, managed his last FA Cup match for Nottingham Forest against Arsenal in February 1993 – a match Nigel played in for Forest, losing 2-0
● Gabriel Jesus has been involved in 20 goals in his last 19 domestic cup appearances against teams from outside the Premier League (14 goals, six assists), across spells with Man City and Arsenal. Jesus has won all 19 of those matches, with his teams having an aggregate winning score of 69-9 in those games.
Wrexham v Chelsea
5.45pm GMT, Saturday 7 March 2026
SToK-Cae-Ras
● Wrexham and Chelsea haven’t met in any competition since February 1982 when the Welsh side won 1-0 in a league game, one of two wins Wrexham have registered in nine games against Chelsea (D3 L4).
● Chelsea have faced Wrexham in one previous FA Cup tie, needing two replays in the 1981-82 fourth round to knock them out. The Blues have won six of their last eight away games in Wales in all competitions (D1 L1), including a 3-1 win at Cardiff in the League Cup this season.
● For the first time since 1996-97, Wrexham are into the FA Cup fifth round. That season is one of three times the Red Dragons have progressed to the quarter-finals – beating Birmingham 3-1 – along with 1973-74 and 1977-78.
● Chelsea have progressed from their last 24 FA Cup ties against sides from a lower division, since losing 4-2 to Bradford City in January 2015. Among top-flight teams, only Arsenal (28 from January 1998 to January 2013) and Man Utd (30 from January 1985 to February 2009) have had a longer run of eliminating lower league teams.
● Wrexham’s Josh Windass has scored five goals in his last five FA Cup starts, including the winner for the Red Dragons in the fourth round this season. All six of his goals in the competition have been netted on home soil.
● Pedro Neto has netted four goals in two FA Cup appearances this season, one against Charlton in the third round and a hat-trick against Hull in the fourth round. The last Blues player to score in the third, fourth and fifth rounds in a season was Pedro in 2016-17.
Newcastle United v Manchester City

St. James’ Park
● This is the eleventh FA Cup tie between Newcastle and Man City – the Citizens have progressed from the last two in the quarter-finals in 2019-20 and 2023-24, having only progressed in two of the first eight ties against the Magpies.
● Manchester City knocked Newcastle out in the League Cup semi-finals this season – the only two teams to eliminate the Magpies from both the League Cup and FA Cup in a season are Wimbledon in 1987-88 and Arsenal in 2007-08.
● Newcastle have progressed from nine of their last ten FA Cup fifth round ties, although they were beaten 2-1 by Brighton at this stage last season. Two of those nine fifth round wins came against Manchester City in 1994-95 and 2001-02.
● Manchester City have won 18 of their last 20 matches in the FA Cup across the last four seasons, losing only in the finals in 2024 against Man Utd and 2025 against Crystal Palace. ● Harvey Barnes has been involved in five goals in seven home FA Cup starts (four goals, one assist), while he leads all Newcastle players in this season’s competition for both shots (eight) and chances created (four).
● Manchester City have benefited from three own goals in the FA Cup this season (two vs Exeter, one vs Salford), a joint-record for a Premier League side in one season along with West Ham in 2005-06 and Man City themselves in 2018-19.
Fulham v Southampton
12pm GMT, Sunday 8 March 2026
Craven Cottage

● Southampton have lost three of their last four matches against Fulham (D1), all in the Premier League in the 2022-23 and 2024-25 seasons. The Saints last beat them in May 2021 under Ralph Hasenhüttl, a 3-1 home top-flight victory.
● Fulham are looking to reach the FA Cup quarter-final stage for a third time in the last four seasons (also 2022-23 and 2024-25). Their previous three quarter-final appearances came over a period of 20 seasons before this.
● Since beating Manchester United in the 1976 final, Southampton have been eliminated in seven of their eight FA Cup ties against top-flight opponents while playing outside of the top division at the time. The one exception was a 2-0 win against Blackpool in the third round in 2010-11.
● Kevin has been involved in three of Fulham’s five FA Cup goals this season (two goals, one assist), while he had the most shots (eleven) and most touches in the opposition’s box (22) of any Premier League player across the third and fourth rounds in 2025-26.
● Oriol Romeu could make his 20th FA Cup appearance in this match – the Spaniard started for Southampton in their last FA Cup tie against Fulham in January 2018 in his first spell, a 1-0 win under Mauricio Pellegrino.
Port Vale v Sunderland
1.30pm GMT, Sunday 8 March
Vale Park
● Port Vale progressed from their first two FA Cup ties against Sunderland in 1935-36 (third round) and 1961-62 (fourth round) but have lost their last two against the Black Cats (1991-92 third round, 2018-19 first round).
● Sunderland have won their last six meetings with Port Vale in all competitions, with this the first since a 2-1 away win in the EFL Cup in August 2021.
● Port Vale are playing in the fifth round of the FA Cup for the first time since 1995-96, when they lost against Premier League side Leeds United in a replay. Only once have they reached the quarter-final of the competition, doing so in 1953-54.
● Sunderland are into the FA Cup fifth round for the first time since 2014-15, when they lost 2-0 to Bradford City. The Black Cats last reached the quarter-final in 2013-14, knocking out Southampton in that season’s fifth round.
● Port Vale are winless in their last 15 meetings with Premier League opponents in all competitions (D4 L11), since a 2-1 win over Everton in the 1995-96 FA Cup fourth round.
● Both of Sunderland’s goals in the FA Cup this season have been scored via set pieces (a throw-in and a penalty) – they are the only side in this season’s fifth round yet to score from open play in the competition.
Leeds United v Norwich City
4.30pm GMT, Sunday 8 March 2026
Elland Road
● Leeds have lost two of their last 15 meetings with Norwich in all competitions (W9 D4), on both occasions losing to current manager Daniel Farke when he was Canaries boss in April 2018 and February 2019.
● This is the fourth FA Cup tie between Leeds and Norwich – the Canaries went through in a fourth round replay in 1934-35, while the Whites won 5-0 in a third round second replay in 1972-73 and then 5-2 in the third round in 1976-77.
● Leeds are looking to reach an FA Cup quarter-final for the first time since 2002-03 under Terry Venables – they’ve been knocked out in the fifth round on four occasions since then. This is their first home game at this stage since 1998-99, drawing 1-1 with Spurs before losing a replay 0-2.
● Norwich have been eliminated in each of their last 14 FA Cup ties against top-flight teams while playing outside the top division themselves, last progressing from one of these ties in the third round in 1981-82 when they beat Stoke City 1-0.
● Leeds have progressed from each of their last six FA Cup ties against sides from a lower division, since losing 3-0 to Crawley in January 2021. As a Premier League side, the Whites have won eight of their last nine at Elland Road against lower league sides, losing 1-0 to Wolves in March 1998 in the other.
● Norwich City’s Anis Ben Slimane has the most assists of any player in this season’s FA Cup from the first round onwards (four), assisting two goals against each of Walsall and West Brom in the third and fourth rounds respectively.
West Ham United v Brentford
7.30pm GMT, Monday 9 March 2026
The London Stadium
● Brentford have won seven of their ten games against West Ham United in all competitions since becoming a Premier League side in 2021 (D1 L2); they haven’t beaten a side more often during that period.
● This is just the third time that West Ham and Brentford have been drawn against each other in the FA Cup – the Bees progressed in a fourth round replay in 1926-27 while the Hammers won 1-0 in the third round in 2022-23 via a Saïd Benrahma strike.
● West Ham United have been eliminated from their last three FA Cup fifth round ties – they last reached the quarter-final in the 2015-16 campaign, winning 5-1 away at Blackburn in that season’s fifth round.
● This is the first time since 2018-19 that Brentford have reached the fifth round of the FA Cup, though the Bees have failed to progress beyond this stage on the previous three occasions since beating Blackburn 2-0 in 1988-89 and going out to eventual winners Liverpool in the quarter-finals.
● Crysencio Summerville has been involved in all three of West Ham’s FA Cup goals this season (two goals, one assist) and he has six goal involvements in his last five FA Cup appearances overall (three goals, three assists).
● Brentford have kept a clean sheet in both their FA Cup matches this season, as many as in their previous 20 games in the competition. Indeed, they last did so in three successive matches in the competition in 2004-05.
