Birmingham City and Portsmouth update
Birmingham City FC and Portsmouth FC have been fined £85,000 and £53,125 respectively following the mass confrontation at their EFL Championship match on Saturday 2 May.
It was alleged that both clubs failed to ensure their players didn’t behave in an improper and/or provocative way around the 80th minute of the game.
Both clubs subsequently admitted the charge against them. An independent Regulatory Commission imposed these sanctions following a hearing, and the written reasons for its decisions can be seen below.
