An independent Regulatory Commission has sanctioned Reading’s first team assistant kit manager for breaching FA Rule E3 during their EFL League One game against Huddersfield Town on Saturday 9 August 2025.
It was alleged that Richard Bone acted in an improper manner and/or used insulting and/or abusive words towards the match referee, contrary to FA Rule E3.1. It was further alleged this constitutes an “aggravated breach”, which is defined in FA Rule E3.2, as the words included reference – whether express or implied – to sexual orientation.
Richard Bone admitted the charge, and the Regulatory Commission imposed a six-match stadium/ground suspension, £200 fine and mandatory education. The Regulatory Commission’s written reasons for these sanctions can be read below.
