Phoebe Langan’s last-gasp winner sent Carlisle United through to the Adobe Women’s FA Cup second round qualifying with a dramatic 2-1 win over Northallerton Town.
Carlisle looked set to progress thanks to Bessie Best’s second-half strike, only for Northallerton to equalise in the third minute of additional time.
But there was a final twist in the tale, as Langan raced through on goal and calmly slotted home the winner to seal a thrilling win on the road in first round qualifying.
Carlisle are joined by Redcar Town, who beat Whitehaven 1-0 courtesy of Abi Foy’s first-half goal, as well as a penalty save from Ellie Randall.

Atherton Laburnum Rovers repeated the feat of their men’s side by reaching the Second Round Qualifying thanks to a 2-1 win over Wirral United.
Shannon Gill put LR ahead on the hour mark, only for Wirral to equalise two minutes later. However, Gill stepped up again to grab the winner six minutes from time to seal victory.
Victory was more comfortable for Needham Market, who beat Newmarket Town 2-0 thanks to strikes from Annie Posnett and Jae Lewis-Samuel.
They will be joined by Bishops Cleeve, who got past Cirencester Town 2-0 through efforts from Leonie Gough and Jess Stirling.
There was more drama down in Devon, as a late Tiverton Town penalty sent them through with a 4-3 win over Redruth United.
Costessey Sports beat Brightlingsea Regent by the same scoreline, while Gateshead Leam Rangers were 5-2 winners over Harrogate Railway.
It was a similarly close affair for Ross Juniors, who beat Hereford Pegasus 3-2, while Millbrook Ladies got past Three Bridges 3-2 away from home.
There were plenty of goals in the south coast meeting between Havant & Waterlooville and Bognor Regis, with the Hawks running out 5-3 winners thanks to a brace from Chelsie Hay.
Eastbourne Borough booked their place in the next round with a 2-0 win over Hastings United, with Lola Dulake on the scoresheet alongside an own goal.
In the capital, Connie Howarth got the only goal to send Camden Town through with a 1-0 win over Frontiers.

There were also some big winners, across the country with Morecambe beating AFC Crewe 7-1 and Preston North End winning 5-0 against Haslingden.
Washington beat Guisborough Town 7-1 and Hertford Town beat Hertfordshire rivals Oaklands Wolves 6-0.
