With the new football season fast approaching, Portsmouth have enjoyed a week-long camp at St. George’s Park to prepare for their 2021-22 campaign, which included a friendly against fellow League One side Burton Albion.
Having just finished two points outside the League One play-offs last term, head coach Danny Cowley has been utilising the state-of-the-art facilities at St. George’s Park to form part of his first pre-season with Pompey, as the south coast outfit prepare for their opening League One fixture of the season, away to Fleetwood Town, on 7 August.
Portsmouth Head Coach, Danny Cowley, said: “It’s been great to be at the facility and be together 24/7 – they’re long days, but they’re also good days.
“We’ve enjoyed each other’s company and have done a little bit of team building work, which was fun.
“It was a great week and we are appreciative of the club for finding the funding to allow us to come to St. George’s Park.
“England were there for many weeks during the Euros. There’s pretty much everything you need – it’s like the Disneyland of football!”
