England U19s made it two wins from two games in Euro qualifying on Saturday, with a 3-1 victory over Iceland.

Keith Downing’s Young Lions, who beat Moldova by 4-0 in their opening game on Wednesday, picked up where they left off and took the lead after 13 minutes.

And it was Fulham defender Steven Sessegnon who got the opener, after being set up by Callum Hudson-Odoi, to score his second goal in two games after previously netting against Moldova.

Iceland hit back though and found an equaliser through Isak Oli Olafsson in the 34th minute to send the teams in level at the break.

The second half belonged to England though, as they regained the lead through Stephen Walker when he followed up after Iceland keeper Patrik Gunnarsson had saved Emile Smith Rowe’s effort.

The Middlesbrough striker then added his second of the game in the 77th minute after an assist from captain Morgan Gibbs-White.

England will now face host nation Turkey in their final match of the group on Tuesday (12 noon kick-off).
