Robbie Savage will lead a team of hardy celebrities into 12-hours of gruelling action against competitors from the FA People’s Cup on Friday.

Former Leicester City, Birmingham City, Blackburn Rovers and Wales midfielder Savage has formed Robbie’s Sport Relief Allstars, who will play five-a-side games around the clock to raise money and awareness for Sport Relief 2018 in partnership with BBC Radio 5 Live.

The FA People's Cup
  • Semi-Finals: 24-25 March
  • Finals: 28-29 April

The squad is made up of well-known celebrities from the realms of sport, entertainment and music with ex Manchester City and Sunderland boss Peter Reid as manager.

Savage has now completed his squad's line-up with a roll-call featuring JB Gill, Kirsty Gallacher, Michael Vaughan, Rachel Yankey, Sam Quek, Warren Brown and Harry Judd joining him for the games.

And they will face an epic challenge as they attempt to stay on the pitch for the full 12 hours, with selected teams from the People’s Cup taking to the pitch every 15 minutes, to push them to the absolute limit and test their endurance.

Alongside the gruelling game, Republic of Ireland goalkeeper Shay Given takes to the nets to complete 12 non-stop hours of penalty shoot outs, with members of the public lining up to take their best shots against him.

"Twelve hours of football is no easy feat, but for such a great cause it'll be worth it,” said Savage.

“I have a fantastic team behind me and I just hope members of the public come down, give us a cheer and support us."
