Saturday saw eight games played in the Buildbase FA Trophy as the third round delivered its fair share of drama and upset.

There was a big win for Brackley Town and a crucial away draw for Billericay – here’s our rundown of all the key action from the day.

Bromley escape Buildbase FA Trophy upset
Workington were perhaps the biggest winners of the day as they remained only one of two seventh-tier sides left in the competition, drawing 1-1 at home to fifth-tier Bromley.

The deadlock remained unbroken in the first half, despite chances for both sides, before Workington made the breakthrough on 49 minutes, Phil McLuckie driving home Nathan Waterston’s cross.

Bromley piled on the pressure and got their reward 11 minutes from time, with captain Jack Holland flicking home Frankie Raymond’s superb corner.
Workington will get the chance to make the last eight in Bromley on Tuesday night.

Brackley Town take down Sutton United
There was however a victor in the tie in Northamptonshire, with National League North side Brackley beating higher-league opposition in the shape of Sutton United.

Lee Ndlovu got the home side rolling midway through the first half as he fired home from a knockdown, with Aaron Williams smashing his penalty straight down the middle 10 minutes later to make it two.

Things looked ominous for Sutton after the break when Jimmy Armson got Brackley’s third, meaning that a late goal from Tommy Wright was a mere consolation.

Billericay Town hold Harrogate
Another side to continue their Buildbase FA Trophy adventure is seventh-tier Billericay Town, who secured a 2-2 draw away at Harrogate Town.

The Essex outfit got off to the perfect start just 10 minutes in when Rob Swaine headed home from former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jamie O’Hara’s cross.

Joe Leesley equalised for the home side just minutes later and put his side ahead midway through the second half with a brilliant strike into the corner.

And this time it was Billericay who were unwilling to trail, as Adam Cunnington struck five minutes later, heading home from 10 yards out to earn a replay.

Maidenhead and Stockport County share the spoils
Stockport County were another side to earn a replay against higher league opposition as they heald Maidenhead United to a 1-1 draw away from home.

County took the lead early on in the game when a low cross in from the left was converted by Matt Warburton from 10 yards out.

Maidenhead started slowly and trailed at the break but found their way back into the game on 57 minutes when Ryan Upward finished off a goalmouth scramble.

A crowd of 855 watched on at Edgeley Park as the visitors earned a Tuesday-night replay in the north west.

Around the grounds
Elsewhere in the round, Maidstone United and Gateshead drew 2-2.

Jamar Loza and Jai Reason got the goals for the Stones but two late goals for Lewis McNall and Richard Peniket got the visitors back in it.

Wealdstone are into the fourth round courtesy of two goals for Danny Green in a 2-1 victory over Warrington Town whilst Spennymoor Town and East Thurrock United will play it again after a 1-1 draw.

There was a thrilling tie down on the south coast as Leyton Orient triumphed over Dover Athletic 4-3.

Orient head coach Justin Edinburgh was delighted as David Mooney, Matt Harrold, Macauley Bonne and George Elokobi all scored to overcome a late surge from Dover.
