Bay cruise through replay

Three-time Buildbase FA Vase winners Whitley Bay cruised into the first round proper as they swept past Billingham Synthonia by 3-0 in Tuesday's replay.

After a 2-2 draw last weekend, the Northern League side made their home advantage count as goals from Tom Potter, Jack Walker and Matty Cornish steered the 2011 champions into the first round where they will face Westella & Willerby.

It has been 34 years since Coggeshall Town last reached the first round of the Vase but their long wait is now over after dispatching Redbridge 3-1 in a replay.

A brace from Nnamdi Nwachuku and Luke Wilson’s goal on the stroke of half time means Town will face Enfield 1893 in the main draw.

Sheppey United will be making their first appearance in round one since 2000 after cruising past Tunbridge Wells 5-1 at the Culverden Stadium.

Remmel Davis got the visitors off to the perfect start by netting inside one minute before Luke Harvey, Ian Batten, Hicham Akhazzan and Timmy Babbington helped United progress to face Fisher next month.

Having played out a thrilling 5-5 draw with Hadley, Colney Heath made no mistake in the replay as they won 3-0 to set up a first round clash with Hullbridge Sports.

Debenham required extra time to get beyond Great Yarmouth Town as the Hornets won 2-0 to seal a first round berth.

Elsewhere, Rossington Main dumped out Northern Counties East League side Hallam by 2-0 as 1874 Northwich got the better of rivals Congleton Town and will take on Irlam in the next round.
