Dunkirk booked their place in the FA Youth Cup third round qualifying in style

There was a magnificent seven from Dunkirk FC as a George Bosworth hat-trick saw them book their place in the FA Youth Cup third round qualifying in style on Thursday evening.

The Boatmen dominated from start to finish as Harborough Town were dispatched 7-1 in second round qualifying at the Ron Steel Sports Ground.

Bosworth made it 2-0 inside 15 minutes as he twice weaved his way through the Harborough defence before slotting past the goalkeeper on both occasions.

Kieran Corby’s fortuitous free-kick did halve the deficit before the break but Bosworth completed his hat-trick with a poked finish, Chandju Mphande netted either side of Luis Parkes converting Bosworth’s inviting cross and Ethan Hunter emphatically finished in stoppage time to complete the rout.

Buckingham Athletic were also in seventh heaven as they edged a wild game with Windsor FC 7-4 after extra-time.

The sides were locked at 3-3 at the end of 90 minutes but Tommy McElroy was among the scorers in the additional half-hour to put the Ath in the hat for the next round.

There were also big wins for St Albans City, who beat Kings Langley 8-2, Dagenham & Redbridge – who triumphed 6-0 against Coggeshall Town – and Hemel Hempstead Town, as they downed Chesham by the same scoreline.

Elsewhere, Woodbridge Town came from a goal behind to beat Peterborough Northern Star 6-1, with Lewis Dyer and Lucas Naylor grabbing doubles, while Bottesford Town went to Maltby Main and also walked away with a 6-1 triumph.
