Tonbridge Angels recorded their largest Emirates FA Cup win, showing off their class to reach the Second Qualifying Round following a 7-0 win over Ascot United.

The Angels, who have reached the First Round five times in their history, made the most of their Step 3 status, racing into a 3-0 half-time lead thanks to an own goal followed by Nathan Elder’s header and a Damian Scannell strike.

It proved too much for the Step 5 side as Luke Allen and Bradley Fortnam-Tomlinson added further goals, while Scannell added his second direct from a corner. Tom Phipp’s free-kick rounded off the win.

The Ryman League Premier Division side – who only forced a replay through a missed, stoppage-time penalty for Ascot in the first clash – now travel to Wingate & Finchley in the next round.

Elsewhere, Stamford pulled off an Emirates FA Cup shock as Southern League Premier outfit St Neots Town felt the force of a resurgent first half for the hosts.

Jevani Brown opened the scoring, while Sam Mulready and Tom Batchelor sent them into dreamland with a 3-0 lead.

Pete Clark got the visitors back in the game, but a fourth from Jordan Smith capped off a memorable night for a Stamford side who earn a tie with Gresley in the Second Qualifying Round.

Two goals in the last ten minutes also sent Ossett Town through, with Danny Frost’s close-range winner sinking Billingham Synthonia in a thrilling 3-2 encounter.

Frost had earlier equalised Macaulay Langstaff two-minute opener, while Alex Peterson lobbed the Synthonia winner prior to Frost snatching the tie just four minutes from time – enough to set up a meeting with FC United of Manchester.

More than 2,000 fans turned out at Edgar Street to watch Hereford breeze past Romulus, thanks to a rocket from Tristan Plummer, followed by goals from John Mills and Jamie Edge.

Kirby Muxloe required extra time to get beyond Leicester United 3-2, while Chasetown prevailed 6-5 on penalties, after their clash with Grantham Town couldn’t be separated with the game finishing 2-2 after 120 minutes.

Alresford Town twice came from a goal down to knock out Fareham Town 4-2 and reach the Second Qualifying Round for the first time, while in the night’s only non-replay fixture, goals from Aaron Rodriguez and Charlie Davis strikes were enough for Weymouth to overcome Paulton Rovers 2-1, with Nathan Legge’s goal nothing more than a consolation.
