Marieanne Spacey has named a 16-player Next Gen squad for a training camp at St. George’s Park.

The squad will meet on Sunday for a four-day camp.

The Next Gen group has replaced the previous Under-23 set-up, though the squad will still compete in U23-aged matches and competitions.

Spacey, who is also the senior team’s assistant coach, manages the Next Gen team.

The changes are designed to maximise the development of the Next Gen players, to strengthen the pathway into the senior team and allowing older players to be part of the squad.

The Next Gen squad will train alongside the England Women's senior team, who also meet at St. George’s Park on Sunday as they prepare for their upcoming home game against France, at the Keepmoat Stadium on Friday 21 October (8pm KO).

Mark Sampson will name his squad tomorrow.

Tickets are still available priced £7.50 for adults and £3.50 for children. A family ticket (two adults and two children), priced £15, is also available, and group booking and Charter Standard discounts apply.

Tickets can be bought via www.TheFA.com/Tickets.

Spacey said: “We’re looking forward to getting back in camp and working hard with this group of players.

“After just two camps, we’re already seeing the benefits of setting up the Next Gen group and we’re now looking to further develop the players and the group next week.

"It’s really important that we’re working alongside the senior group as well so there is alignment and consistency across the age groups over style of play and what we want from our players.

“I’m particularly pleased to welcome Sarah Mayling, Gabby George and Jess Carter to the group after some impressive performances with our U20s, which can set a real example to all of our younger players.”
