Marieanne Spacey has called up eight players for the second Next Gen training camp.

The England Women’s assistant manager will lead the players for a three-day camp between 11 and 13 September.

The Next Gen group has replaced the current Under-23 set-up, though they will continue to compete in U23-aged matches and competitions.

They will regularly train alongside the England Women’s senior team to further enhance player development and align playing styles.

Spacey said: “This camp is an opportunity for the players to continue to grow as Lionesses of the future.

“We will be working closely with the senior squad as we prepare for our last two important European Championship qualifiers.

“It also gives us an opportunity to work closely with each individual player on their development plans moving forward.”

The very first Next Gen squad got together at St. George’s Park last month.

Squad:

Hannah Blundell (Chelsea), Gemma Bonner (Liverpool), Laura Coombs (Liverpool – on loan from Chelsea), Mary Earps (Reading), Beth England (Chelsea), Mel Lawley (Birmingham City), Beth Mead (Sunderland), Jemma Rose (Arsenal).
