England Under-21s will find out their opponents at next summer’s European Championship Finals on Thursday.

The Three Lions are in the group stage draw in Krakow ahead of the competition next June, after finishing top of their qualifying group.

Interim head coach Aidy Boothroyd will be among the English delegation in Poland for the draw, which will see the 12 qualified nations split into three groups of four teams.

It’s the first time the Finals have featured this many teams, with previous competitions consisting of just eight nations.

Nine teams, including the Young Lions, qualified automatically after topping their groups with a further two teams, Serbia and Spain, having to negotiate a play-off in November.

And England are the only country to have reached the last six finals as Thursday evening’s draw approaches.

Germany, Portugal and Poland will be the first seeded teams in the draw, which is being held at the ICE Congress Centre in Krakow, with Poland already confirmed in Group A.

England will be joined by Spain and Denmark in the second pot with the remaining six nations, including 2015 champions Sweden, making up pot three.

The nations involved are Czech Republic, Denmark, England, FYR Macedonia, Germany, Italy, Poland (hosts), Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Spain and Sweden.

The finals will be staged across six venues in Poland between 16 and 30 June in Kielce, Lublin (both Group A), Gydnia, Bydgoszcs (both Group B), Tychy and Krakow (Both Group C and semi-finals), where the final will be held on 30 June.
