Joining in training for the first time during this meet-up were the likes of Wayne Rooney, Marcus Rashford and Chris Smalling, fresh from their Emirates FA Cup Final triumph with Manchester United.

Jamie Vardy was missing from the group after being given time off for his wedding, while Gary Cahill and Daniel Sturridge did not train due to minor knocks.

The squad will head for the north-east on Thursday afternoon, with Roy Hodgson due to speak to the media later today.
