England Women’s Under-23s were unable to build on their impressive win over Germany as they lost 1-0 to USA at the annual La Manga Tournament.

Nikita Parris grabbed the only goal of the game on Wednesday but Marieanne Spacey’s side were unable to find the target against a well-drilled American outfit – and were edged out by a single goal.

But they get the chance to bounce back when they take on Sweden on Sunday.
