FA Vase first round qualifying: Sunday 6 September

Sunday 06 Sep 2015
There were a number of FA Vase ties on Sunday afternoon

Chris Davies helped himself to two first-half goals as Risborough Rangers comfortably won 4-0 at Irchester United in their FA Vase first round qualifying clash.

Davies turned home a Danny Gray cut-back to put Rangers ahead after 14 minutes, before letting fly from 25 yards to hand the visitors a two-goal cushion at half time.

After the home side battled for a way back into the game after the restart, Gray made the game safe on 71 minutes as he raced on to a ball over the top before firing home.

And substitutes Jack Welch and James Shrimpton combined with five minutes left to see the latter add a fourth.

Oxford City Nomads also won 4-0 to keep their Wembley dream alive as Buckingham Town were no match for their hosts.

In truth, the result was never in doubt as the home side led 3-0 at the break thanks to goals from Drew Boyd, Amer Awadh and Daryl Harris.

But Liam Palfreeman got in on the act in the second half to ensure Oxford City’s safe passage.

Further south, Horsham safely navigated their way past Epsom & Ewell to set up a clash with Selsey.

The teams were locked in a stalemate at half-time but a Sam Currie own goal gave hosts Horsham the initiative and Kieron Pamment struck twice late on to settle any home fans’ nerves.

Ellistown and Ibstock United also advanced but they were made to work for it at Continental Star – eventually winning 3-2.

And a Sean Dunn goal was enough for Brantham Athletic to squeeze past Sawbridgeworth Town and advance to the second qualifying round where they will face Brimsdown.
