England trio Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Kieran Gibbs helped Arsenal to a 2-0 win against Bayern Munich that breathes new life into their Champions League campaign.

The Gunners, who had lost each of their opening two games in the competition, welcomed the German champions to north London and picked up a crucial three points.

Walcott led the line from the start, while Oxlade-Chamberlain and Gibbs appeared off the bench as two goals in the final 15 minutes secured the result.

Elsewhere in Europe, Gary Cahill marshalled the Chelsea back four as they kept a clean sheet in Ukraine to earn a point against Dynamo Kiev.

Back on home shores, England Under-21s' Chuba Akpom found the net as Hull City clinched a convincing 3-0 win at home to Ipswich in the Championship.

The striker, who is on loan from Arsenal, tapped in a cross from fellow England age group international Moses Odubajo just before the break at the KC Stadium.

And U21s goalkeeper Jordan Pickford kept a clean sheet as Preston North End left Charlton Athletic with a 3-0 win to move up to 17th in the Championship.

Meanwhile, teenage forward and U20s schemer Demarai Gray helped second-placed Birmingham City to a 1-0 win at Bolton Wanderers.

In League One, England U19 duo Adam Armstrong and Bryn Morris featured in Coventry’s goalless draw at Rochdale – as Joe Cole made his debut for the Sky Blues.
