The 2015 Cerebral Palsy World Championships continued on Wednesday with four more action-packed fixtures.

In all there were 18 goals across the four games, with USA, Brazil, Canada and the Netherlands all recording victories.

USA and Venezuela got proceedings under way at 11am, and it was Kevin Hensley who starred for America as he netted two on the way to a 3-0 victory against the South Americans.

Day two
USA 3-0 Venezuela
Brazil 6-0 Scotland
Canada 3-1 Northern Ireland
Netherlands 4-1 Argentina

Bryce Boarman got the other goal for the Stars and Stripes, in a game they dominated from the off.

They were ahead inside 15 minutes after Adam Ballou set up Hensley to fire home from distance, with the aid of a slight deflection.

It was not completely plain sailing for America, however, and Venezuela almost drew level when Jose Luis Felipe Quintana darted through their defence.

He fired a shot towards the top corner, but goalkeeper Keith Johnson was equal to it and stuck out a hand to palm the ball away.

However from there USA took command and doubled their lead moments later with a blistering counter-attack.

Boarman added a third shortly after to give the States an unassailable three-goal cushion, and they saw the closing stages out in comfort.

The second game of the day was between Brazil – one of the pre-tournament favourites – and Scotland.

And as widely predicted, it proved to be a comfortable victory for Brazil, who ran out 6-0 victors.

Wanderson – considered among the world's best – was the star performer for the South Americans.

He played a part in four of the six strikes, scoring one and setting up three.

Jan Francisco, Fernandes, Jose Carlos (2) and Jonatas were the other scorers as the Samba Boys raced to the top of Group C.

As the scoreline suggests, Brazil dominated throughout, but Scotland came closest through Jamie Mitchell just after the interval.

Played in by Mark Robertson, Mitchell was clean through on Gilvano's goal, but the substitute stopper saved well to prevent him with a moment to remember.

Game three was the closest contest of the day, as Canada edged Northern Ireland by 3-1.

Goals from Dustin Hodgson, Trevor Stiles and Sam Charron proved decisive.

Canada got off to a flying start as captain Hodgson made the most of a mistake from Darren Lemon in the Northern Ireland goal and fired his side into the lead with just 10 seconds played.

Argentina and the Netherlands line up ahead of their contest

Their lead remained at just one goal until the break, despite Canada continually pushing for a second.

And as the second period got under way their failure to extend the advantage looked like it may cost them as Northern Ireland equalised moments after the restart.

Cormac Birt scored it directly from a free-kick. He fired past Wojtiw into the top right corner and an upset looked like a possibility.

However, goals from Stiles and then Charron gave Canada the victory they will feel their dominance deserved.

The fourth and final game of day two was a repeat of the famous 1978 FIFA World Cup final, as Netherlands and Argentina went head-to-head.

There was no ticker tape this time round for Argentina though, as Holland ran out comfortable 4-1 winners.

Minne De Vos, Iljas Visker (2) and Lars Conijn were the scorers for the Netherlands – one of four professional CP teams competing at the 2015 finals –

With the score at 2-0, Matias Bassi’s powerful drive gave Argentina hope, but it was quashed by two late goals for Holland, who end the day top of Group D.

There are three more games on Thursday. Russia take on Portugal (11am), Australia face Ireland (1pm) and – in England's group – Japan meet Ukraine at 5pm.
