Gary Cahill enjoyed a consistent and solid year, as one of the major players in Roy Hodgson's team throughout Euro 2016 Qualification.

The Chelsea defender was one of the first names on the team-sheet, capable of leading the back-line with a number of different defensive partners such as Phil Jagielka, John Stones and Chris Smalling.

Cahill's dependancy was reflected in him earning seven caps in 2015 to take his total England tally to 40 appearances for the Three Lions.

And his position as vice-captain to Wayne Rooney in the England squad further underlines his importance to Hodgson as he plans his approach to 2016 and next summer's Euro Finals in France.

The former Aston Villa, Burnley and Bolton Wanderers player led out England for the first time in October, captaining the Three Lions in Rooney's absence for the 2-0 win over Estonia at Wembley.

Cahill is one of the five contenders for the Vauxhall England Player of the Year for 2015 and polls are now open for the award, with members of the England Supporters Club able to cast their vote for one of the five candidates.

Now it is up to you to help decide which Three Lions players you think deserve the honours for their performances in 2015. Voting for the two awards closes at midnight on Sunday 3 January 2016.
