Markus Olsson says he and his Blackburn Rovers team-mates have to take confidence and courage from their performances during this season’s FA Cup run.

The Championship side face Liverpool in their sixth round replay on Wednesday night and the Swede is eager for another impressive home display to help book a date at Wembley.

Rovers have already beaten top flight opposition in Swansea City and Stoke on their way to the the quarter finals, and after holding the Reds to a goalless draw at Anfield last month, Olsson hopes home advantage and 27,500 fans backing them will prove key once more.

"We've had so many games since the first Liverpool match that we haven't really been thinking about it," admitted Olsson to Rovers.co.uk.

"All of the lads did well in this game, we've been doing well in the Cup this season, and hopefully we can put in the same performance.

"It isn't going to be an easy game, Liverpool are a very good team, but we play well at home, we are strong at home and we have shown that against Premier League teams this season as well."

Aston Villa await the victors at the National Stadium, a venue Olsson says everyone, including himself, are desperate to appear at.

"Wembley is one game away, everyone at the club wants it. For the players, the staff and the supporters, it will be something that would be good for the club.

"I've never been there, it is something that would be great to play at Wembley. Hopefully we will give them a good game, you never know what can happen."
