Ben Wood scored twice as Shildon stunned Stourbridge to progress to the Fourth Round Qualifying of The FA Cup on Tuesday night.

The Northern League Division One side – the equal lowest-ranked in the Cup – defeated Stourbridge 2-0 away from home in their Third Qualifying Round replay to book a tie with Norton United.

The Railwaymen’s victory over Stourbridge is one of the shocks of this year’s FA Cup, as they overcame a side who reached the Second Round Proper last season.

The win also means the County Durham side continue their magical FA Cup run, which began back in August with a 7-0 victory in the Extra Preliminary Round – the competition’s first hurdle, and continued last month with a 1-0 defeat of Stalybridge Celtic

There was only one other away win during Tuesday’s matches, with Bath City knocking out Shortwood United.

The visitors produced a dominant display in their 3-1 victory, racing into a two-goal advantage after first-half strikes from Nick McCootie and Ben Adelsbury.

Bath extended their lead shortly after the interval through Andy Watkins and Shortwood’s 90th-minute goal proved to only be a consolation.

The other five matches taking place on Tuesday ended in home wins.

Gloucester City were made to work hard in their replay with Staines Town. With just three minutes to go the pair were locked at 2-2, but Nathan Modest made himself a hero by firing home his second goal of the night and sending the Tigers through.

Nathan Burke’s 81st-minute goal sent Warrington Town through at the expense of Colwyn Bay, a result which keeps the victors dreaming of reaching the First Round Proper for the first time in their history.

Bromley booked their place in the next round of The FA Cup with ease after smashing Grays Athletic 5-0.

The Conference South team were 2-0 up at half-time after an effort from Reece Prestedge and a penalty from Jordan Robertson.

And the goals continued in the second 45 minutes as Bromley set up a trip to Evesham United in the Fourth Qualifying Round.

Worcester City also booked their place in the next round after overcoming Leamington 2-0 at home.

Goals from Ellis Deeney and Danny Jackman mean the Conference North side are just one win away from reaching the First Round Proper for the first time in nearly 10 years.

Gosport Borough were the final team to book themselves a spot in the next round after a 3-0 victory against Maidenhead United.
