Oxford City hit six against luckless Lewes in FA Trophy

Alejandro Santiago netted a brace for Oxford City as they recorded the biggest victory of the day In The FA Trophy.

They got off to the perfect start against Lewes when they scored three goals in the opening 15 minutes with strikes from Felipe Barcelos, Adi Yussuf and Santiago.

Nick Wheeler pulled a goal back before half-time, but Oxford dominated the second half proceedings and goals from Santiago, Kynan Isaac and Declan Benjamin comfortably saw them through to the First Round Proper as 6-1 victors.

North Ferriby United also hit six as they thrashed Mickleover Sports 6-2 with Tom Denton netting an impressive hat-trick.

Nathan Jarman, Jason St Juste and Ryan Kendall also got their name on the scoresheet.

Hyde produced one of the best comebacks of the day as they came from behind three times to record a 4-3 victory over Tamworth in a seven-goal thriller.

Adam Blakeman scored twice, while Connor Hughes and Alex McQuade also got among the goals to make it a memorable day for the Greater Manchester based club. 

The goals did not stop there and Bishops Stortford also came out 4-3 winners over Chelmsford City.

There were also big victories for Concord Rangers, Gosport Borough, Worcester City, Spennymoor Town and Ramsbottom United who all booked their place in the hat for Monday’s draw.
